We, Milk 'n' Cookies thought about recording this as one of our songs for Warner Bros. but ran out of studio time. Later, Sal said his band with his girlfriend Lisa - Velveteen would record this for Atlantic Records but that I would have to give Lisa half the publishing royalties because when she sang it she changed the pronouns around. I said, "I don't remember anyone else being in the room when I wrote it so...no."
This is really the story of the prince of one night stands hanging out by the girl's room upstairs at Max's Kansas City, shyly allowing myself to be picked up. I have since grown up and no longer engage in such behavior, though I do flirt.
